Halloween 2013

Another blog post!  Look at me!  Yesterday was Halloween and it was Lucas' first Halloween where he actually had some idea of what was going on...or at least noticed something was going on.  We bought him a Cookie Monster costume (see below) which he calls "Mo-Mo."  We think he calls Elmo and Cookie Monster both "Mo-Mo."

Ryan's work had a Trick or Treating shin-dig the day before so Lucas got his first taste of trick or treating.  At first he totally didn't get it, but soon got the idea.  Eventually he started taking things out of his bag and trading them for something else.  Everyone thought it was funny.  We couldn't figure out what he thought was "good" candy versus "bad" candy.  He did like some candy that was shaped like a ball.

Then yesterday was round two of trick or treating.  The very first house we went into was our neighbors who we are getting to know.  Ryan and Lucas go up to the door (I'm hanging back) and then Ryan knocks and walks back to me.  This was probably a rookie mistake that no one told us about because right when the neighbor opens the door, Lucas immediately walks in.  Um...oops.  Thankfully she is a grandmother of 3 boys and gets it.  So, needless to say, every house after that I was right next to him at the door keeping him from going inside and making himself at home.

Looking at his loot that sadly he didn't get any of.  Except for the pixie stick he gnawed through (see below).  Sorry folks, I'm holding out on candy for as long as possible!
